Lola And The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Lola And The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Rating: PG
Score: 5 stars

Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion, she believes in costume. The more expressive, sparkly, fun, more wild the outfit, the better. Her style might be outrageous but she's a devoted daughter and friend and has very big plans for her life. Everything is pretty much perfect, even right down to her hot rocker boyfriend. But when the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to their old house next door in the neighborhood, everything changes. When Cricket, a very gifted inventor, steps out of his sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally realize a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Review:
Pros:
1. This very sweet young adult romance is definitely one of my favorite love stories of all time. From the characters to the emotions, everything was just well put together and written into a funny and witty story about two teens in love.

2. The characters were a major love of mine throughout the whole book. They were all very protective of each other family wise and also sarcastic and fun. They were all different and unique and even some were complete opposites of each other. I loved how all the characters just seemed to work together with each other and created a realistic group of crazy friends and overprotective families.

 3. I also loved the story line and how it wasn't rushed and took it's time developing feelings and emotions between the characters. Because the story took it's time to evolve, it really created a lot of background and slowly built up the romance and really pinpointed the differences between knowing what you want and knowing what you need in your life.

4. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and will probably be picking it up again in the future. It was an easy read and very clean with language. It had the perfect amount of romance and made you laugh out loud at some points as well. This book is definitely for any girl looking for a good romance book that's not too cheesy or boring. Sarah Dessen fans like myself will fully enjoy this one!
